Theophilus London Live in concert

ReelFeel presents the phenomen Theophilus London live in Sofia on May 30. Born in Trinidad, named London, but living in Brooklyn, New York musician is one of the most famous personalities in the world of urban rap and electro-pop these days. Producer, writer and MC, Theophilus London, has a cult image, combining rap, electro-funk, indie and pop, blending all these styles in outrageous and original way. The definition “hipster-rap” might be right, but when he is performing live, imagine something like a new wave party where he raps over songs from the The Cure and New Order, and mashing them with the rhythm of Fela Kuti and James Brown .
Theophilius began his career as an MC in Brooklyn when he was 14 years old. He quickly entered the world of rapping  and began to experiment with different tones and styles. We can hear that very clearly in  "The Charming Mixtape", where all the tracks are inspired by Notorius BIG, Prince and Rick James. The music is a great mashup of  rap, electro pop and vintage elements. He released his debut album "Timez Are Weird These Days" when his was only 23 years old.  The record was immidieatly spoted by the major giant Warner Bros records, who released the aldum. Theophilus himself said that with this album he is trying to present the essence of pop culture these days wich is really strange and unexplained. He made  very impressive covers, rebuilding classics like Tweets - Oops, Marvin Gaye - I Want You and Nat King Cole - Calypso Blues. Apart from his joint work with Mark Ronson, Theophilus recorded songs with Solange Knowes – Beyonce sister.

Like Kanye West, Theophilus London became famous in the fashion field. His clothes and extravagant styling, while he is performing, provide him with additional fame and with a lot of publications in magazines such as NY Times, Vogue, Elle, Chicago Tribune, XXL Magazine, Wall Street Journal and many more.

On Maъ 30, Theophilus London will perform in Sofia with his entire live band and will show us how an indie artist is becoming a major star, how rap and pop music can go hand in hand and  what is to be fashion icon and music phenomenon at the same time. The concert will be held at Pork Pie Club at Borisova Garden. Tickects can be purchased at Eventim's network, bar "4 rooms" and bistro "Teatroto". The concert is supported by Bushmills Irish whiskey  which is already famous for his outspoken aesthetic taste.The event is for persons over 18 years.
