Hudson Mohawke

Angel

The phenomen Hudson Mohawke comes to life at the end of the 90s when he is just 15 years old. Ross Birchard is listed in the history of the DMC championship as the youngest member participating in the finals. Currently Hudson Mohawke collaborates with artists such as Kanye West, Just Blaze (the producer of Jay-Z), Waka Floka, remixes Bjork and Jamie Woon and writes music for electronic games such as Grant Theft Auto. The sound Hudson Mohawke makes is a bright and in the same time nightmarish mix of hip hop improvisations influenced by J Dilla, cosmic r'n'b, boom bass and euphoric rave, garnished with all sorts of effects and sounds of different parts of the world.

In 2007 Hudson Mohawke takes part in Red Bull in Toronto where he makes a brutal remake of the track of Tweet & Missy Elliot - Oops. As is to be expected, he attracts great attention and not shortly he joins the family of the giant WARP records, while he starts being compared with the names of Aphex Twin, Squarpusher, Autechre and Boards of Canada. All these formations are responsible for the development of the electronic avant-garde in the last 30 years and Hudson Mohawke is their young and fresh successor.

Just 25 years old, the born in Glasgow producer really has nothing to complain about. His music often attends the most authoritative BBC Radio 1 shows - those of Zane Lowe and Benji B. The Guardian recently described him as "The future of R'n'B". Participating in many festivals throughout the whole world, the key to his success is hidden in his modesty and his ability not stand out, using his talent to create music and sounds never heard before by the human ear.
